Hostfully Cleaning Checks with Clyn

Diana MuturiaSeptember 30, 2026

To add cleaning checks to Hostfully, connect Clyn from Clyn > Integrations, find Hostfully, click Connect, approve access in Hostfully, then add a checklist and reference photos for each property. After that, your cleaner takes photos in the Clyn app after each turnover and Clyn's AI checks them against your standard before the next guest checks in.

Hostfully is a solid place to run a rental business. As of October 2026, its site lists a channel manager with distribution to 60+ booking platforms, a central calendar, a unified inbox, an owner portal, task management and team coordination, and mobile apps (Hostfully pricing). What a task list cannot tell you is whether the clean itself met your standard. That is the part Clyn adds.

You keep Hostfully as your system of record. Clyn sits on top and focuses on one job: checking the turnover.

Why a completed task is not enough

When a cleaning task is marked complete, you know someone was there and said they finished. You do not know whether:

  • There is hair in the shower drain or on the bathroom floor
  • The beds were made to your standard with fresh linen
  • The kitchen counters, sink and inside of the microwave were wiped
  • Supplies were restocked
  • Anything was damaged by the last guest

If you manage properties for owners through Hostfully, one guest review that mentions dirt can be harder to explain to an owner than to fix. Catching the miss before check in is cheaper than handling it after. My guide to cleaning quality control for short term rental managers goes deeper on building this into your operations.

How to connect Hostfully to Clyn

You need admin access to both your Clyn account and your Hostfully account.

  1. Open Clyn and go to Integrations. Sign in at clyn.com and open Integrations.
  2. Find Hostfully in the list of property management systems.
  3. Click Connect. You will be taken to Hostfully to authorize the connection.
  4. Approve access in Hostfully. This lets Clyn work with your Hostfully properties.
  5. Add a checklist for each property. Build it room by room to match the home.
  6. Upload reference photos showing how each room should look when it is ready for a guest.
  7. Get your cleaners set up in the Clyn app so they can take and submit photos after each turnover.

For screenshots and the most current details on what syncs, see the integrations tutorial.

Setting up checklists and reference photos that work

The AI checks photos against your standard, so the quality of your setup matters more than anything else.

Checklists

Keep them specific and in the order your cleaner works. "Clean bathroom" is too vague. "Shower glass free of water spots, drain free of hair, two bath towels folded on the rack" is checkable. If you need a starting point, use my Airbnb cleaning checklist and adapt it to each home.

Reference photos

  1. Stage each room exactly as guests should find it.
  2. Shoot from the doorway in good light, then add close ups of the areas guests notice: beds, bathroom counter, shower, toilet, kitchen counters, sink and fridge.
  3. Keep the same angles your cleaner will use after each turnover.
  4. Update the photos when you change furniture, decor or amenities.

What a turnover looks like after setup

  1. Your cleaner finishes the clean and opens the property in the Clyn app.
  2. They take the photos the checklist asks for.
  3. Clyn's AI checks each photo against your reference standard. If a photo is blurry or too dark to judge, it asks for a retake on the spot.
  4. You get a pass, or a fix list naming what was missed.
  5. If there is a fix list, your cleaner can handle it before leaving, which takes minutes instead of a return trip.
  6. The photos are saved with the date, so you have a record of the home's condition before the next guest arrived.

That last point matters if you ever need to prove guest damage. A dated photo taken right before check in is strong evidence of the condition the guest received.

Tips for property managers on Hostfully

  • Roll out one property first. Get the checklist and photos right, then copy the approach across similar units.
  • Brief your cleaners. Explain that photos protect them too: a pass shows the home was ready when they left.
  • Use fix lists as coaching. If the same item keeps coming up, update the checklist or the reference photo, or talk to the cleaner about that one step.
  • Share results with owners where it helps. A clean photo record can make owner conversations easier.

Pricing

Clyn is free for one property with 5 AI quality reports a month. After that it is $15 per property per month, or $9 per property per month billed annually. See Clyn pricing. Hostfully is billed separately by Hostfully.
