How to Train a New Airbnb Cleaner in One Week
You can train a new Airbnb cleaner to your standard in about a week if you show them what "done" looks like, clean one turnover together, and check their first few turnovers with photos. Most cleaners who fail are not bad cleaners. They were never shown the host's standard.
Day 1: Show the standard, don't describe it
Before the first turnover, give your cleaner:

Days 3 to 5: Photo checks on every turnover
Let them clean alone, but ask for the same set of photos at the end of every room. Review them the same day, while there is still time to fix anything before check in.
Give feedback on the photos, not from memory:
- "The bed looks great."
- "Two towels on the rack next time, not one."
- "The stovetop still has a mark on the back left burner."
Specific, visual feedback is faster to act on and easier to hear than "the kitchen wasn't clean."
Days 6 and 7: Spot checks
By the end of the week, most cleaners are close to your standard. Move from checking every photo to spot checks, and pay attention to what still gets missed. That is where to focus next.
